Wow….I unprejudiced finished watching this movie and it is a staunch jem. Ladies in prison flicks are cold but this one takes the cake as far as campy goes. Here are some of the things you will experience if you perceive this flick.

I must admit this is by far the funniest and sickest movie I have seen in a long time. The situation centers around this band of revolutionaries who want to recall over thier country by force. They approach up with the crazy belief of breaking into an all “womens prison” and freeing the women who will back them with the revolution.(This is the first time I have ever seen anyone rupture “into” a prison.) Not great of what goes on makes any sence but it distinct makes for one hell of a laugh riot. Roger Corman impressed me again. I have only seen one other Roger Corman movie “Bucket of Blood” and I have to admit that this film is stranger and funnier than “Bucket”. As I was watching this film I kept asking myself “Is Roger Corman for accurate? … is he trying to be serious or trying to be humorous? “….the script is a zany hoot and the film kept my attention all the intention through. I recieved the VHS version and there was 2 spots where the audio did not sync up to the film, this error actually added to the wierdness of the flick. The entire movie had that “made for T.V” feel to it. There is some nudity and abominable launguage but the contentnt is so bizzare and offbeat that it deserved a “R” rating. I highly recommned this film for the cinema nut who thinks he has seen it all. You will not be dissapointed!…..the highlight of the film is when halfway thru the movie you gather out the prison guards and warden engage men sexually over women…tickled prison guards!!!!…..this twist in the scipt is impartial TOO Comical!!……..bewitch it today….you will thank me!!

While any movie starring Pam Grier is worth watching, the Grand Doll House is a particularly spirited entry in the “Women in Prison” film genre. Produced by the tall Roger Corman and filmed in the Philippines, this movie features all the violence, mayhem, and nudity one expects in a 70’s “Girls Tedious Bars” flick. It also has the added bonus of a enormous scene where Pam Grier and another woman fight it out in the mud of the rice fields (where the women are forced to toil) . Don’t miss it!

The title STALKER is quite misunderstood because many consider it is a translation from a Russian word that means ‘to stalk.’. Actually Tarkovsky’s script inserted the word STALKER thinking it was a catchy English equivalent for something like a Russian pathfinder or guide. In that context, the central character’s role is better understood, for he spends time leading the writer and scientist toward discovery and revelation, which they ultimately cannot effect. STALKER is a masterpiece of imposed reality on the viewer. Manufacture no mistake: this film is very difficult to cease with without your utmost attention. Diminutive artifice, few physical elements, hardly any place, STALKER exists as a flow that draws your mind, heart, and soul into the nature of human existence. Only those shining and sensitive enough to perambulate Tarkovsky’s waves of feeling, emotion, and notion can comprehend his message of possible salvation and redemption through admire and persistent searching for human truth. The writing on the video box implies this is another sci fi film, but clearly it is not. Tarkovsky’s spacious films are mythical allegories in the tradition of Pilgrim’s Progress or Piers Plowman. For me, Tarkovsky is the ultimate challenge in sparkling film making, because he presents and discusses his ideas only in the context of the film itself, not honest as a media vehicle to insist. What strikes me most is his absolutely consistent sense of creep in all his films: expressionless, deliberate, but fluid and highly organic. He is one of the few grand masters of film as an art design.

This is a film about faith, divine grace and the fruitless vanity stemming from our soul’s modern sin. To quote from one of the characters in the film,” My mind preaches vegetarianism, but my heart longs for a juicy allotment of steak.” And this is the premise of the three characters rush into the Zone - to leer out their steak: to catch the Room in the Zone that will grant them their wishes; and this coming from the very same people whose professions demands higher standards of lawful living from them, careers that require them to preach vegetarianism. Of course they have failed in their lives professions, and the characters know this but their inner chaos stem from the private anxiety in their lives, their failure to live up to their calling and their denial/certainty about their indivisual failures and states of their tarnished souls. Although Stalker is someone who leads others into the the Zone as a guide, his purpose apparently being to aid others bag their wish and thus bring about happiness for others, yet Tarkovsky hints that Stalker’s outward explaination is dubious as he will not hesitate to acquire scapegoats and guinea pigs of his clients in the face of uncertainty and exertion. As for Writer, he is, yes, a writer who is going into the Zone to explore and beg for inspiration and faith in life as a whole; until Writer can get this wish, his cynicism and lack of faith can be summed up in one of his quotes:” A writer can only write about his readers.” Professor is a scientist whose reason for seeking out the Room is unspecified until at the very extinguish of the film but I will not scream his reason.He is a researcher who has to contain his boss’s fury and defintely hates his job at the lab. Many expansive cinematic moments are to be found in the film, in fact the film is one gargantuan cinematic moment non-stop, even after it ends, and this can be attributed to Tarkovsky’s colorful handling of every aspect of the film; one can even go so far as to say that with this film tarkovsky proved that he is easily the Einstein of cinema. His vision is earth shattering, deviating almost completely from the recent intentions of the writers of a current on which the film was based. The ending when it is revealed the reason why one of the guides of the Zone hanged himself despite obtaining a wish from the Room will blow away anyone who lives in the frustrated knowledge of life and all our mortal desires as an empty vainity of vanities without the presence of God and selfless like. The editing, station designs, music and lighting, the human choreography, the wisdom and everything in this film qualifies it as the best film ever made. Totally current without trying to be. If you only ogle one film for the rest of your life this has to be it! It will effect you want to live better, stirring profound thoughts and feelings within you long after the film’s over. This is more than a film, it’s almost a miracle. The British ticket ARTIFICIAL Behold apparently has better English subtitles and shows the complete film without cuts unlike the American version, or so I read.

Probably the most dismal thing that ever happened to `Citizen Kane’ was that it found itself atop the AFI top film list. Now, no one can simply indulge in the film. Everyone feels compelled to witness it and do a decision about its greatness. Asking whether `Citizen Kane’ is the best film of the century is like asking if Marilyn Monroe was the most splendid woman. It depends on whom you ask.

`Citizen Kane’ is not the most fascinating film I’ve ever seen, but it is certainly one of the most indispensable. It is a vanguard motion record and a tremendous achievement for Orson Welles. If you assume the fact that Welles was a 24 year feeble Hollywood outsider who had only done radio and theater when he landed the contract for this film, you launch to relish what a gigantic deal it was. Hollywood was uniformly against it and Welles was branded an insolent maverick. The film was snubbed by the Academy. It was nominated for 9 Oscars and won only best screenplay. The film turned out to be a commercial failure, losing $150,000. With all the forces stacked against it, we are lucky to be having this best film debate at all.

The sage has a simple moral; that money and power can’t select happiness. We examine Kane’s progress from a cheerful child, to an idealistic young journalist intent on helping the celebrated man, and finally to a bitter and wrathful dilapidated man whose innocence has slipped from him. One of the most effective scenes that illustrated this was the two tiny overlay of breakfast conversations with his wife. It starts with cooing lovers and progresses through increasing levels of discord. It ends in silence with the two reading separate newspapers, her disdain for him subtly indicated by her choice of the hated Epic as her newspaper.

What is so mighty about this film is the filmmaking. Director after director has pointed to some aspect of this film as having influenced them. The exercise of shadows and various perspective shots was not unprecedented in 1941, but never before had they been stale with so remarkable dramatic impact. What was unprecedented was that `Citizen Kane’ was the first film ever to disappear from the strict chronicle format, which moves forward chronologically. The film starts at the waste and jumps around in time based upon the perspective of the person who is telling his or her account about Kane. The makeup was revolutionary. Welles often went through four hours or more of makeup to be properly worn for each scene. The film also launched a number of colorful careers. Besides Welles, Joseph Cotton and Agnes Moorehead went on to long and prominent film careers.

If `Citizen Kane’ is not the best film of the century it is certainly one of them. Its influence on a generation of filmmakers cannot be ignored in the equation. I first got exposed to Divergence Eve/Misaki Chronicles through a friend who recommended it. After doing some research, it looked like nothing more than an anime that was pudgy with well-endowed women. I bit the bullet and purchased both the first and second seasons, and I must say it’s a extraordinary prove.

Divergence Eve is a gigantic kickoff point to the series, although the first few episodes are a exiguous heavy on the fanservice(boobs) . Give it a bit though, and this season really turns around and by the demolish it leads perfectly into the sequel, Misaki Chronicles.

The sequel is fairly confusing at first, but if you bask in the theory of time recede and parallel universes than you will savor this. If not, you should quiet be able to follow what’s going on, they define it fine clearly in my idea.

Misaki Chronicles starts off very differently then DE, instead of the fanservice it gets lawful to the meat of the tale and wastes no time. The dwelling is what really surprised me about this anime, and what compelled me to write a review about it. The character development is very well done, especially in the latter half of the 2nd season. In all I’d summarize this exhibit as being a very heartwarming one, the conclusion of the narrative is very nicely done and ties up all the loose ends.

If you can seek past the great breasted women, you’re in for a wild lag. This is a very solid anime and one that I recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind seeing a heartwarming tale.

I’m sorry for rating this so obscene, but I’m writing the review to throw caution to the anime fan that has never seen this series. I have to mention that I savor all kinds of animes and in my view I wouldn’t recommend any anime that you couldn’t study for a second time, or even again and again. I do understand that people like this series, which are the fans who rated this so highly, and I respect that (which is genuine for them, and money well spent for them) … but unfortunately, I bought this before even watching one or more episodes. I bought both seasons, and feel duped. I opinion it would have more of a storyline, more of all that creativity of which anime is. Not a unpleasant anime, but not enormous neither (IMO) . AND in my idea they could have made two movies instead of two seasons.

The theme gives Irving Berlin an excuse to craft or recycle a number of holiday-themed songs, such as (in the former category) “Washington’s Birthday” or (in the latter) “Easter Parade.” The most famous of the new material, of course, is “White Christmas,” which became one of the bestselling songs of all time and the title song of Crosby’s 1954 film. br Those familiar with the Sinbad films of the late 20th century, featuring the Dynamation effects of Ray Harryhausen, will be dazzled by this newcomer. This first animated feature film by India-based Pentafour Software is also the first-ever full-length film to pioneer the complete use of 3-D motion capture technology. Motion capture uses infrared cameras to track the movements of live actors, which it then converts digitally into animated characters. The effect is a cartoon with a human look. Facial expressions are lifelike; gestures are fluid. Computer-generated scenes are rich in color, depth, and realism. The technology was used, in part, in the movie ITitanic/I, yet its full potential is realized here in this fantasy-adventure tale based on the Arabian Nights character. On a beach near her palace, the beautiful and spirited Princess Serena discovers the shipwrecked Wizard Baraka. Unaware of his evil intentions, she leads him to the castle to meet her father, King Chandra. Under the guise of goodness, the wizard gives the king a potion that immediately allows Baraka to switch identities with the king. Possessing the king’s appearance, Baraka throws Chandra into the dungeon with Serena as the only witness to the wicked masqurade. She escapes with one clu to save her father: she must search the ends of the earth for the Veil of Mists, where she can find an antidote to reverse the wizard’s spell. Her accomplice is the legendary sailor, Sinbad, whose mercenary motive at the story’s beginning (”I don’t do damsels in distress,” he says) eventually gives way to blossoming love. In the meantime, families will relish the shipwrecks, sword-fighting, and sea creatures. (Ages 4 and older.) I–Lynn Gibson/I
