He almost always gets better over time. And while it only has 10 episodes, they are all terrific. The situations he gets himself in are hilarious. I cringe each time he either puts his foot in it or someone takes him the dismal method. I felt for him when he was relaying what he’d heard in the bathrooms at the hospital and when he was telling the tale, someone assumed that he was actually the one who’d said it and the wretchedness that follows.

MEET THE BLACKS

Cheryl learns about a program to aid disenfranchised families displaced by a major hurricane, and tries to talk Larry into hosting a family. I’d have to say I was disappointed when I first saw the first episodes of Unlimited. It was named Final Fantasy, but very petite linked it to the extraordinary video game series of the same name. The chronicle seemed immature and generic and not interwoven with many character driven side stories; only the Final Fantasy mascots appeared (Chocobo, for one) ; and the music didn’t think the classical style that went with the games. So, needless to say, I didn’t bother buying anymore of the DVDs in the series.

Then the box place came out, and I admitted to myself that I was at least spicy about how this series would slay, plus I had learned that Gonzo made Unlimited, and Gonzo has yet to fail me in any of my anime endeavors. I bought it, and I watched the first episodes again. I cringed, because suddenly I felt the same contrivance and even found a few more things I disliked about it. But I didn’t finish, and continued to spy, and found that, slowly, this series evolved. It became emotionally driven, with a lot of elements that made Final Fantasy large. There were mascots galore (the stated chocobo, cactuar, moogles, summons, and Cid) . Some of the music heard can be heard in previous games (the opening song–not the title song–and the battle victory) .

Still, it wasn’t as Final Fantasy as its namesake, but I found that in watching the anime the entire scheme through that that was okay. Though it isn’t a excellent chapter in Final Fantasy, it’s a ample stand-alone anime nonetheless. It has big animation, a exclusive style that seems both classical and cutting edge (Astroboy with CG) . The narrative deepens as the two main characters search for their parents, and other myth lines inform themselves as well, such as Kaze’s account, the main character in charge of a great gun good of summoning creatures into battle, and Lisa, a martial artist with the power to control elements. It’s difficult, however, to recommend this anime. I’d only recommend this to Final Fantasy fans who don’t steal the game too serious. If you do, you’ll be disappointed with this anime. I’d also recommend it for anyone who enjoys experimentation in their animation. If you enjoyed Kid’s Epic in the Animatrix, you’ll appreciate this.

When I first heard that there was a Final Fantasy series that was to be introduced as a DVD series in the US I was quite wrathful. Certainly, as a game series, Final Fantasy has consistenly hit high marks in both memoir and graphics. It seemed reasonalble to query that the series, coming out at the same time as other series that have shown landmark levels of quality would be something to stare. Alas, that is not the case.

A sizable tower of light suddenly plunges into the new world, and substantial monsters appear in tale battles. The world changes subtly as a darker presence begins to select possession of the shadows. The editorial for this DVD is legal on, so I’ll pass on repeating that info. This DVD is truely survey candy for young and faded. The animation is really chilly and dramaticallly different from most other cartoons. Contemplate dapper realistic, 3-D; a bit similar to clay animation, but great more realistic. Water, bubble, and spash scenes are particularly plentiful and fun to leer. There is always a salubrious learning lesson in the video which is very pertinent to preschoolers needs. The extras on the DVD are two games; several “fill-in the puzzle fragment” record games and a classic matching game. There is also character bios, an extensive narrated “trailer” with many video clips titled Rubbadubbers-Beyond The Bath, an extensive narrated photo gallery, and 3 bonus mini adventure clips. I have boys musty 3 & 4 who really savor this unusual series. All in all I consider this exhibit is quite wonderful and very inspiring. I reflect the DVD is well worth getting. My children particularly like playing the games.

We rented this from the video store and my 5 year-old son

liked the cute, pretend adventures of the bath toys using their imagination. Each of the 5 short episodes teaches a nice apt record. Not very clever, but satisfied and pleasant.

This Japanese anxiety film is the first terror film I’ve seen with this type of theme. It’s both disturbing yet suspenseful. And once the set begins to unviel you can feel yourself getting sucked in to try and solve the mystery before the main character does. Since I figured some people might be wondering what this is about and hear it from someone who has seen the movie and what not I decided to get a short summary of Isola.

The main character, Yukari Kamo, is a volunteer worker after the earthquake in Kobe in 1995. She has no home and no family. But she holds the special talent of being able to read people’s minds. Yukari has been severly affected by her “gift” and is forced to bewitch pills to level-headed herself down.

Eventually she runs into Hiroko Nomura who is the director at a rescue center. Hiroko allows her to finish at her house and Yukari learns that Hiroko is a high school counseler who has a special student named Chihiro Moritani. Chihiro drew 13 pictures of different types of trees that represented each of the personalities that confined in her mind. She would call it her “family tree”. The only personality that can’t seem to be drawn as a tree is the 13th personality named ISOLA. Chihiro merely scibbles out the name whenever she is pressed by Hiroko. Yukari learns that Chihiro obtained these personalities after she got into a car accident in which took both her parents lives.

Finally, in a sincere triumph of clever cartoon manufacture, Felix must stave off attacking bears, mountain lions and other beasts as he tries to retrieve wild flowers for a sexy lady cat who’s giving him the frigid shoulder. This cartoon really shows some of Messmer’s strengths, as your examine gets fooled again and again. For example, at one point, Felix has reached the summit of the mountain, breathes a tell of relief, then starts to catch the nearest flower. The film is so grievous budget that it steals its musical find directly from other things (the music mature when Goku rides the flying nimbus for the first time is lifted wholesale from the titillating series Ranma 1/2) .

This is the kind of film that fully deserved to appear on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Even sans a riff track, the film is intensely (and most probably unintentionally) comic.

If you’re the sort of person who likes dreadful films that are unintentionally comic, you’ll laugh until you roar whilst watching this (my best friend actually got a nosebleed because he was laughing so hard) .

I (being a DB/DBZ/DBGT fan in any language or format) tried to secure a copy of this “movie” for years, and, when I finally found it on Amazon, I rejoiced…until I watched it.

This movie is Dreadful. The Dragon Ball Evolution movie is a million times better than this “movie”, and I belief ‘Evolution’ was abominable.

I will list the negative aspects of this “film”. I would list the obvious, but I can’t approach up with any.

1) BULMA IS ONLY MODERATELY GOOD-LOOKING

Bulma should ALWAYS be the most resplendent woman in existence.

2) GOKU

A) IS PLAYED BY A WOMAN

Now, I know that the person who does Goku’s notify in the novel Japanese version of the anime indicate is a woman. That doesn’t bother me at all. In fact, I assume her voice-acting to that of S.S. in the American voice-overs, BUT this is live-action. Goku should see tough, not like a sixteen year venerable girl.

B) CAN Soar WITH Nyoibô?

I mean, I know it can extend over two-hundred and fify-thousand miles, but a jet-pack it is not.

C) HAS THE SAME POWER-LEVEL AS YAMCHA?

This is shown to us in a really awful computer-animated sequence.

3) KRILLIN (KULILIN) IS NOT IN THE FILM

I’ve heard people complain about the lack of Vegeta, but he’s

not even in the recent DB series. Krillin is! Where’s Krillin?!?!?!

4) YAMCHA

Actually, the actor portraying Yamcha does the best job in

the “film” in my plan. (Wow! One clear say!)

5) OVERALL PRODUCTION VALUE IS WORSE THAN POWER RANGERS

In fact, I have the feeling that people who didn’t earn the reduce

to be on the crew for POWER RANGERS moved to China and made

this “movie”.

6) BREATHTAKINGLY Unpleasant CHINESE CINEMA

I appreciate genuine Chinese cinema, as well as some that’s abominable, but

this makes the Shaw Bros.’ flick Dismal MAGIC look

like a masterpiece.

7) KIDS WON’T EVEN Observe IT

I did everything but strap six different kids (old-fashioned 8 - 13) down

and made them discover, but only two made it all the map through.

Those two kids are mild excited at me.

This “film” is an abomination.

I can’t piece any more of my thoughts without using profanity.

P.S. If you want a first-rate live-action movie about Goku, peek THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM. Goku is loosely based on the monkey king (who is a major character in that movie) anyway. I assume Jet Li as the character whom Goku is based on is as profitable as we’ll ever come by in a live-action film that has any resemblance to Dragon Ball.

2002 American Masters Documentary: Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer (Gene Kelly - Anatomy of a Dancer)

`S Wonderful: The Making of An American in Paris, an all original documentary, produced especially for this release. A dynamic history of the making of the film, which reveals how George and Ira Gershwin’s classic songs, the pleasing art of the French impressionists and the ultimate teamwork of MGM’s legendary “Freed Unit” came together to make a musical masterpiece. Featuring ten novel interviews, including co-stars Leslie Caron, Nina Foch, and Kelly’s widow. A very enlightening piece; Caron’s memories are probably the most arresting, with Foch running a conclude 2nd. Caron’s comments about co-star Georges Guétary being lovely but not too shiny seem to be echoed by Kelly’s widow, who says Gene spent more time trying to converse him how to gracefully inch down a plot of steps than on anything else in the film. It is gloomy that Maurice Chevalier could not have taken that role as originally intended. You also realize unbiased how revolutionary this movie was (artistically), especially because of the 17-minute ballet tacked on at the raze of the movie. Even Irving Berlin disapproved during an on-set visit, which didn’t wait on the confidence of Vincente Minnelli at all.

Not all of the novel musical recording stems have survived over the years, preventing a legal stereo/5.1 restoration of the soundtrack; instead, a restored mono version is being made available.

Most are familiar with the movie; storywise, it is a small creaky and hasn’t necessarily survived well over the years: Kelly is an American artist living in Paris. He falls in fancy with a young girl (Leslie Caron) who is in a loveless relationship with one of his best friends (Guétary) . Kelly is also in somewhat of a loveless relationship with his financial sponsor (Nina Foch) . You can probably guess the rest.

The fine color, amazing music by Gershwin (arrangements by the talented Conrad Salinger), and the extraordinary choreography of Gene Kelly will sustain this one a classic for years to reach despite a predictable situation. Fair the ending ballet alone is a masterpiece; the art of Toulouse Lautrec and Utrillo comes to life with Gene Kelly & Leslie Caron dancing their hearts out to some of the most imaginative choreography (Kelly’s) in years. The Freed Unit at MGM was at their peak when this movie was made, and this is one of the last expansive ones that it created.

It is a actual shame that with how astounding the relate is (the colors literally leap off the cover, and it really adds to the appreciation of what an artistically sparkling visual feast this movie is) that the sound cannot match. Although it is obvious and free of problems, the Gershwin music unprejudiced begs for a 5.1 or 7.1 surround track; unfortunately, due to the age and availability of the new elements, this is not possible.

A magnificent movie that showcases Gene Kelly’s breathtaking talent. Forget the comic chronicle and impartial ogle him dance and dance and dance. He does more with a turn of a shoulder than most dancers can do with their whole body. This movie also introduced the lithe and gorgeous Leslie Caron as the object of Kelly’s affection. The film builds to its dramatic hallucinatory conclusion as Kelly dances his map across a Paris dreamscape, that brings all the elements of recent dance together in a tour-de-force that was unprecedented in musicals of that time. You can’t support getting swept away in the feel-good spirit of this movie. It was another time and site.

TELL NO ONE (Ne le dis à personne) succeeds on every level for this viewer. Based on Harlan Coben’s unique and adapted for the cloak and directed by Guillaume Canet, this is one of those intricately complex French films that is noteworthy in the same mode as the 1955 film LES DIABOLIQUES. Nothing is as it appears at first and even when the mystery is explained in what appears to be a systematic, cohesive manner, the ‘real story’ remains a conundrum. It is a knowing shrimp film well worth multiple viewings to fully luxuriate in all of the aspects of the stunning acting, cinematography, direction and musical scoring.

In a misty opening we witness Alexandre Beck (François Cluzet) and his blooming wife Margot (Marie-Josée Croze) only to abruptly be drawn into the slay of Margot and the beating of Alexandre. The incidents are shrouded in mystery and remain so for eight years when suddenly the now pediatrician Alexandre receives an email from the ‘deceased’ Margot. Alexandre’s world is topsy turvy and he begins to fragment the queer incident with his family - his sister Anne (Marina Hines) and her lover Hélène (a stunning Kristin Scott Thomas), his father, Margot’s family…and the police who initiate to search for evidence that implicates Alexandre as the perpetrator. Alexandre’s lawyer (Nathalie Baye) pits evidence against the police investigators while Alexandre’s chief ally in his speed from the accusers is Bruno (Gilles Lellouche), the father of a hemophiliac patient whom Alexandre has treated and befriended. The travel is on and the clues become increasingly puzzling until at last the truth of the now eight year musty slay and all of the implications of that event unfold.

If there are seemingly holes in the chronicle it is because we, the audience, are never quite definite about the twists and turns of the position. The acting is capable from this cast of some of France’s finest artists, and one of the best performances in the film comes from British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, reminding us that she is one of the most talented and heavenly actors on the conceal today! This is a tough runt film to follow, but the quality of both the memoir and the production is first rate. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, October 08

This is a very inspiring thriller, in the tradition of American films like The Fugitive, but with a original edge that makes it distinctively French and deliciously diabolical. It is certainly darker (and funnier) than The Fugitive, but it is no accident that there is an American feel, since it is based on a book by Harlan Coben.

Eight years after his wife’s brutal slay, novel clues emerge that lead police to once again suspect that Alexander Beck may have killed her. At the same time, he begins to reflect she may be tranquil alive, and is frantic to come by her before he is arrested as a suspect for another related homicide. Director Guillaume Canet keeps you guessing as the situation thickens, revealing bits and pieces of the past as unusual circumstances befriend Beck to survey that he didn’t know his wife as well as he had notion.

The film looks ample, with editing and camera work that helps to finish a perfect balance of subtle tension and intensity. The performances are all very strong — and there is a surprisingly intense performance by a bit player, a clear and remorseless mammoth and skinny female assassin/torture expert, that quiet haunts me. In fact, I would go as far as to say that her performance created one of the most shocking villians I’ve seen on the cover in a long time — even more than the performance of Javier Bardem as Chigurh in No Country for Customary Men — because it was unbiased as intense but more plausible. Definitely recommended for lovers of French Cinema, but also for those who deem that French films tend to be too cerebral and cannot jabber the thrills. This one hits you in both the brain and the gut.

I needed this to complete the collection. I consider this was the best point to ever on TV. Doughty female, star crossed savor, conspiracies and double agents - who could ask for more?

Honestly, I peaceful am bitter that Alias came to an destroy. I rembmer being so disappointed in the 4th season, the introduction of Nadia, the procedure the writers seemed to have lost their contrivance, but season five was better than I remembered. Its was once again the Alias that I knew! Its too poor that it all had to arrive to an demolish. Don’t let the disappointment of season 4 hold you from watching this final season; its worth it, you’ll be happy you saw it.
